My kerbside defender style door mirror appears to be a magnifying type - good for the Mrs Landraver's lippy but no good for driving! I guess I can just replace the miror minus the support arm. It appears to be on a ball type fitting but wondered how it's removed? Is it a case of giving it a good pull upwards (oooer) and hoping it comes off or is it fastened some other method too? I believe it's a Britax one if that makes a difference.

you ned to remove allen screw holding retainer ,then it will pull off ball,or remove hinge from door (leave on bulkhead)and undo there

Might be easier to replace the glass.

If I can that would be great. I only looked at it quickly at the weekend but it looked pretty much moulded into the back. I might be mistaken though.

warm the rubber edge with hot water then work it off.
refit same way.
or change head as jm sez.

Thanks chaps, will have a closer look at it at the weekend and decide what's best.
