The Stainless hinges are made in the UK and are hand-machined from a block of 316 stainless rather than cast. This explains the - wait for it - £300 asking price for four hinges!! Scrapiron used to sell them.

You could knock the hinge pins out, wire brush them and get the hinges galvanised. Get a set of 4 hinges done for a fiver. Drill surplus galv out of hinge pin hole and fit new pins. With stainless bolts, job done, no more rust.

FWIW. Get yourself the later Td5 type hinges. These seem to resist rust better and have a nylon bush in the hinge to prevent the metal-to-metal contact. Try to get genuine LR hinges rather than aftermarket ones. The pattern hinges(S**tpart) that have been supplied in the past often have more slop in them than the knackered hinges that were being replaced!

I had the same problem last year... I bought the Halfords impact driver and still ended up having to drill the heads off the bulkhead screws. Helps if someone can take the weight of the door and lift it away. As Gratch says you can then get your fingers or curved pliers into the bulkhead and get them out.
When replacing the door with new hinges in place I put the screws in loose and then closed the door shut and tightned them up. No after adjustment required.
REMEMBER.... the hinges dont just go on any way. Check you have them on the right way or you will be scratching your head wondering whats happening... saves time
