Hello peeps. Hope you are all keeping well. 110 TD5

2 Questions
I have a Bripart 9500 winch on the front (fitted by previous owner). It was not working but now it is (cleaning the cutoff switch). It would appear that if I use the motor to pay out the cable, then it works OK. If I pull in, it works but if I let go of the button and then press it again, it does not pull in. You seem to have to wait for a while. The out works as I would expect. I have cleaned the handset inside (thought it might be the switch). It is a 3 pin remote. Any thoughts or tips? It all looks in good condition otherwise.

Rear door. I know the was flexing so I fitted a wheel carrier. Looking inside (see photos), it is reasonably rusty and cracked in places (and has previously been repaired). Is it worth saving (welding/de-rusting) or am I wasting my time?

Cheers.

Ref the winch- I would imagine it’s a fault with the solenoid, most cheap winches benefit from a change to an Albright type solenoid, and you can fit a remote control at the same time,

My rear door was worse than that, but with the amount I was spending on the rest of my 90 refurb I decided to weld/bodge it up to get me a couple of years down the line before needing to replace.
I bought a repair section from YRM and carefully prised back the skin just around the bottom, cut and welded new section and refitted the skin. To be honest I was amazed how it all turned out. Youtube can be your friend, helped give me the confidence to start, and if it all turned out Pete Tong and I had to replace the door then that would be the next step. As it is everything is good.
