Evening all,
Last week I requested some help on determining the seriousness of some rust on a 2015 110 Utility. Thanks for those that replied and said they didn't see anything of too much concern. (Okay some replies were a tad more explicit than that).
On Tuesday the missus & I took the long drive over to Norfolk to see it in person. In all honesty there was little that I could have seen that would've stopped me buying it. I'm proud to say I have my first Defender after probably 15 years of drooling and admiring from afar.
Not tempting fate as a few quirks have reared their heads (centre console backlights cut out when using some heater dials?) but it drives beautifully, sounds great and pulls like Hugh Heffner. We both appreciated (the missus and I; not Hugh and I) the lack of any aftermarket additions, snorkels, unnecessary racks and ladders. Nothing against them just not our cup of tea and this has an understated look to it.
The headlining is a real standout that I wasn't expecting would make much difference. Can't imagine that was cheap when it was specced?
We've a few plans for the vehicle but hope for it to evolve with us a family vehicle; will possibly soon be looking in to awnings for camping if anybody has any recommendations?
Finally, we are Nottingham-based so will be looking in to tracks and clubs in Notts and Derbyshire as we're both very keen to start attending and enjoying all that the vehicle can offer us.
Will post a few pics and sign off with a thanks again to those that replied and gave us the confidence to go view and initiate all this.
Cheers all,
Paul
