so we rebuilt me warn xd9000i winch and this eve i mounted it back on the 90 and reconnected it all

pushed the button and the winch was loads faster than before.
stopped and tried inwards and it went a lot slower
stopped and tried forwards and clunk clunk the solenoid just clunks

after cleaning all connections tried again, and solenoid just clunks

so we connected my mates superwinch to it and its exactly the same
removed winch altogether and solenoid still clunks.

so i fitted me mates solenoid(mine and his are albright ones) and refitted winch its exactly the same solenoid just clunks

so i connected both batteries together and with landy runnin tried again, and solenoid just clunks

connected new leads to the solenoid, still the same

i spent 4 hrs tonite fookin about with this and dont know what to look out for or what to do next

anyone got any ideas?

I take it you have continuity through the solonoid when energised ? , if so then id be looking at your motor brushes and armature - buy the sounds of it the brushes have either stuck in there holders or gone by by .

but its the same with 2 different solenoids and 2 different winches..

im gonna have a fresh look at the wiring on fri eve and see what i could have done

they are easy to fit aswell they clip over the gutter and then we put two captive fixings in the side so they can be easily taken off for cleaning etc
