I've noticed recently that on freezing morning the car is quite sluggish and feels like the brakes are binding though I don't think its the brakes.

I only notice this when the free wheeling hubs are engaged. So was wondering...does one-shot freeze or have I got water in my swivels (annoying if I have to strip the buggers as I only did em last year)

Running well otherwise in the cold weather....

Havent noticed any issues here. I'm running with my freewheel hubs engaged and it's been ok in the mornings despite being about -4 here. I'd imagine it can go a bit thick though. Do you have a spare tube you can leave outside and check how solid it goes?

I don't think it will affect it, I think it would be flung to the outside of the swivel as soon as the uj started turning and stay there until you stopped and crept back down again from what I've seen of it. Thick diff oil would be more likely I reckon.

My 2.25 diesel feels like this. Always feels like its a good 20% down on power until its done a couple of miles. I just assume its cold engine, gear & diff oil having an effect.

Will investigate further, this is a definite drag, more than just thick oil as it has a lot of "stiction", i.e. it is more difficult to start moving and will hold the car on an incline....maybe it is something in the brakes....

Not fair, first decent snow we've had here today and I've got to work...Landy is sat outside wanting to run over the snow man that the kids on our street have built in front of it

Can you jack it up when its cold and give each wheel a spin? jack up both front wheels to see if it's isolated to one wheel, swivel/ bearing grease or brakes. Then jack up one wheel to see if it feels like it's in the diff.

The drag from cold is a noticeable point on series , always has been , esp the 2.25 diesel , as the the less power you have the more you notice any of it missing. I always found that freewheel hubs unlocked made a gearchange doifferent to the corner on the slight uphill road from my home when it was winter (very cold) weather . So its a perfectly normal thing , and that was in the days before one shot greased hubs . HTSH
