Hello all,

I'm not much of a mechanic (or electrician) but i'm trying....(very trying some would say)

Whilst investigating a minor problem (see below) I noticed that when I put main beam on (flashing, not constant) there was a spark at the connection and a whisp of white smoke. I'm thinking that's not normal? a small spark maybe, but the smoke?

What brought this on was that my headlights stopped working the other day on the 110, and the light switch became very clunky. guessing it was the switch, I whipped of the steering wheel column casing, and sure enough, one of the studs that completes the circuit in the light switch appears to have overheated and melted the plastic which holds it in place so it's popped out of position and doesn't complete the circuit. I've only owned the LR for a few months, so maybe it's one of those htings that happen over time, or maybe it just developed. It's easy enough to replace the swith part, but between that melting and the smoke from the main beam, i'm wondering if there isn't something more troublesome behind it all??

Any thoughts or reassurances?

Cheers,

Dan

just replace the switch, very easy to do buster has a step by step on here somewhere i thnk. the flash switch has no relay so the full current goes through the switch and over time burns it out. normal.
