Hi this is my first post ....I bought a 05 freelander facelift 3 door stupidly i bought at night and never realised the driver door was a different shade of green than the rest of the car .Not the end of the world the car drives fine and most things work apart from the windows i understand its a common problem the thing is the door was replaced but they never hooked up the electrics so the central locking or window doesnt work ive already took the door panels off and fed through the plugs and wires im not sure where they plug in though ive unbolted the fuse box but finding it hard to manouvere it to see around the back ...oh and the door speaker is also unplugged any help would be really appriecitated ..Thanks :)

Welcome.

Someone may be able to tell you exactly what you need to know, however, in the technical section of the Freelander section is a thread about downloading the Rave documentation. This is a workshop manual for Freelander and includes complete wiring diagrams. From the diagrams it gives you numbers for the connectors and there is a complete list of pictures of the connectors so you know where they are or should be!

I presume this is the same for the later Freelanders - that is definitely the case for the earlier versions covering my '99 model.

Thanks I did try search through the forums but didnt find what i was after i didnt know about the rave documentation I will give that a look now see how i get on :)

It's possible that the replacement door came off an earlier car. This could mean the door harness isn't compatible with the car harness.

That is something i thought myself i managed to get a workshop manual which said the window ecu was at the right hand side near the foot well attached to the body but i couldnt find it there was another plug behind the fuse box but there is no spare socket on there ....is it possible to wire an older door up ?

Anything is possible, you'll need to know what the wires do for each half of the operation ... or pay a reasonably competent auto-electrician ...
