Do you trust your 90/110/130

there are many shades of grey when it comes to trust;

E.g. a favourite saying of mine about the lads at work is

''i'd trust them with my life, but not my money or my wife''

when you ask; do you trust your wagon, how do you mean -to get you from A to B, to rust as you look a it, for a completely unrelated bit to go tits as soon as you have fixed a problem on something else or to eat up the miles of off road punishment then to ask for more?
 
the adventure is in the journey not the arrival. i do sometimes wonder if it will get me some where, even just a few miles away, but it always does. the one i have now has been reliable with only a few issues that were easily fixed which were age related. so do i trust it? not really. will i drive it every day and tow heavy things? damn yes. do i carry a tool kit? hell yes. does it put a smile on my face and will i always have one? abso-fu**ing-lutley.
 
Yes I do trust it because I know it has been maintained, and I know which bits are starting to get a bit worn and in need of replacement. Having said that, I know that there is the possibility of things going unexpectedly bang, so I carry a tool set with me, just in case.

My mate when he got his it broke down on the m25 and didn't have any tools so always carry tools in your land rover
 
I don't trust mine to get me from A to B and sometimes
I get very frustrated but those times that it's running nice
I trust it to put a smile on my face
 
I got a plastic card in my wallet which with a phone call, a man with a break down
lorry comes puts me on the back and takes me home or to the garage.
I have only had to use this with my disco 2,b**stard thing.
If we go really long journeys we go in the wife's jap xtrail
 
So far, so good. It's an 05 plate 90 and has, so far, been bulletproof.

Alot of landies seem to be still driving about at quite staggering ages and milages. You see plenty out there from the 80's and 90's and earlier.

Most 'conventional' motors get canned at a much earlier stage.

I think you have to at least take this into account in making sure that you are comparing like-with-like.
 
My 41 year old Landy (with a twenty year old engine) has only failed to get me home once. And that was only because I didn't have any chemical metal with me :rolleyes:

Not bad considering she's my only transport and has done 300 miles round trips and is worked hard and played fairly roughly :D

Mind you.......I am gaining a reputation for turning up late and covered in oil :p:5btoetap05:
