This is far from the worst problem folks have on here but a pointer would be appreciated. I popped the TV on to kill a few minutes this morning after a 20 mile trundle up the M5 and after 2 or 3 minutes it shut off with an "Low Power" error. Its a 2012 L322 so I'm making an assumption that I've got an auxiliary battery ?? And if I have where is it ? Thanks

Our 2011 will do the same thing, it don’t last long before shutting down, not sure how long but it’s a short period.
I am guessing you were not running the engine?
As for a second battery, if you have you would of found it by now, there’s not much spare space in the L322 to hide a second 1. So I would say no you don’t have an auxiliary battery.

If it’s the original battery getting it checked wouldn’t hurt. I changed ours this year so you could be getting to the end of its life.

Hi don't no about the 2012 model but my 2005 l322 definitely does not gave an aux battery, the electronics in the l322 are very sensitive to a low battery and will come up with all sorts of faults, normally eas or abs but have heard of many different ones best advice is to get a smart charger and recharge the battery, chargers range from about £50 to a few hundred and will normally take 8 to 12 hours. You can try a normal charger but I got best results out of a smart charger

As a matter of curiosity did the issue happen with your new battery or not found out yet ? I'm going to look later this afternoon and see what the battery tells me....

I'm not sure I get the relevance of the charger ...?? If a smart charger adds a slightly higher float voltage, it'll disappear the moment the engine starts and its back to the alternator voltage ??

Not tried since new battery.
Don’t normally sit in car with the ignition on.
It just happened a couple of times since we have owned it, don’t think it was related to the bad battery as it was a couple of years ago. The first time.

Can't explain the technical reasons why as don't no, but I can tell you had many problems with my car over the years and many were to do with low battery readings so I paid out brought a ctek smart charger and have only had to use it twice in the past two years once when I brought it and once after the garage left ignition on and run the battery flat , they did recharge it but had many phantom faults popping up so got the smart charger put left it over night and no problems since, I do understand what you are saying by once the engine is started it should not make a difference but I have found it does cant tell you why . Before anyone says yes I have checked the alternator and that's fine, but one thing I have learned over the passed fea years is battery condition on the l322 is always the first thing to check

Dont know about 2012 model but mine is 2003 and I have fitted a second battery under right hand side boot floor in place of the detachable tow bar bin, do a goooogle search you will know doubt find some info about the install.
