Diversity Sterio Lock Out

Been working on the P38 and had to disconect the battery a fiew times, the sterio has now locked me out. Ive tryed all the tricks on this site like leaving it switched on over night (had about 20 hours), pulling fuses ect. but its just not responding. I take it that it assumes its been stolen. I have the code and its worked befor, but its not leting me enter it. ----

This must happen frequently, whats the best thing to do? Also i have an old Sony head unit sitting on my desk here and i dont know how long i can resist butchering it for!

If it's the standard unit press and hold the BND/ DSC button in the top left as you look at it for a few seconds. I believe that returns it to set up mode. Otherwise you may have confused it into lockout mode if the battery has been on and off so much in which case it might need a dealer reset (aargh!)

Sounds like the latter, but will try the button anyway.

Holding down the BND/DSC button worked! Couldent belive it, after hours of reseting and driving around for weeks with no radio, was as simple as that. Why wasnt that in the manual??? I love you Hippolover.

Feels good to outwit a P38 doesn't it?
