Disk noise when turning right

Hi, I am a very new and green Disco owner and have a problem with my 1995 2.0MPi. When I turn right, I get a noise from the OSF wheen which sounds like the disk rubbing against worn out pads. I think the pads are ok so dont want to replace unnecessarily. Is this a sign of worn pads or do I have something rather nasty to deal with?
