Low mileage 1.22 please.

I can also do a swap (+money) for a 1.4 with 135k miles on. All works fine, but a little sticky to get diff lock off.

Just to let you know bud, you will need the drive flanges off your old one to mate it to your propshafts and the disco hand brake is different although I think you can get around the hand brake thing with a td5 hand brake cable and a bit of faffing at the seatbox bracket.

My defender 1.4 drive flanges are the same as the Disco 1.22:confused:

Really? I did a conversion on a defender not too long ago and they were different, the defender props didnt fit the disco flanges so I had to swap them over.
It might be prudent for James to check before selling his box on.

theres only 2 sizes of drive flange fitted to lt230s ,double cardan large flange and std flange, and you can just swap your hand brake complete assembly from old box if you drill and tap 2 x 8mm holes in rear of output housing

Mine were all standard Disco/Defender parts

Hand brake (as James says above) will need to be swapped but you can leave Disco drum and cable on and just make a bracket to join the two cables together as in pic below:)

So what did I have? The disco tranny box was in the rear of the ninety when it came in so although we were told it was from a disco it might not have been. The problem, if I remember rightly was the prop yolk simply wouldnt fit snugly to the flange. I wonder if it was from a rangie then.
On the day it was easier and quicker just to fit the longer cable and modify the seatbox bracket.
