Deepest Darkest...
Dear All, I'm thinking I may change the rear axle on the 90 in the New Year. Nothing wrong with my axle but drums can be such a faff and I'd like calipers.

Is there a definitive guide on the forum or interweb that describes all change points, pro's & con's, which axle to go for et al?

Have searched for the past hour and can't find a proper write up...

Thank you
Andrew

300tdi disco or 90 axle or rr classic & change the 3 bolt flange for the 4 bolt one job done.
Salisburys will fit but props need to be shortened.

Nowt wrong with drum brakes if properly set up, unless your off roading & the drums get full of silt.
Even then you can drill the back plates & fit hose flush fittings & drill a drain hole. :)

Also IIRC the rear will be trying to overtake the front if you brake hard, unless you fit a limiter or whatever it's called in the brake line. Might be totally wrong on that, but worth checking 1st.

Your thinking of the bias valve, the 90 has one already fitted I doubt the difference between the defender & disco
ones will be anything to worry about. Youd need to test it on a brake tester before & after the conversion to be sure.

If he needs a disco bias valve I have a brand new one here. :)
