Discovery problem.

Disco 300Tdi PROBLEM!!
Symptoms --
Died in mid flight and will not start, like I just run out of fuel. Pre heating light on instrument panel will not come on and satellite 1 fuse f3 constantly blows.
Changed—
First replaced glow plug timer/relay. No change
Replaced fuel cut off solenoid. No change.
Removed fuel cut off solenoid plunger and spring. Engine started fine.????????but I have to stall it to stop.
So I’m now left with a Discovery that wont start and blows a fuse when I try.
I NEED HELP!!

You will be able to start it without the plunge as this is what the ignition controls.

You have your self a wiring problem somewhere, probably a short somewhere. If it is lets say the fuel cut of solenoid then un plug it replace the fuse and see it it still blows, if it is fine then plug it back in, if it then blows you have found a posible cause. If not then move onto something else to see.

Have you been in deep water recently or anything as water may have got inside a connector and is shorting it out.
