Can't say anything about the 200 & 300TDI Disco's as I have only had a TD5 Auto
It is a 2000 reg, Only had it since April but have enjoyed driving it and off roading it,
only mods so far have been EGR valve removed, CB and a Light bar on the roof,
Parts so far been resonable but i suppose thats down to where you shop
Only major proplem i had was Front Prop uj went apart from that been excellent use mine to Trailer my Series 2a about when i get a trailer and my Caravan and the the odd car / Vans . been impressed with it

Regards Rob

I've had all the disco models they are all great long as they haven't been run into the ground lol sold old 300tdi with 245000 miles in the clock and it's still going strong now being used hard on a farm and doesn't burn a drop if oil! Great car!! My 200 was great but being an auto was very slow! But landys are not mention to be fast. My current 2000 td5 with facelift covert, is great but have alot more niggle things about it as packed with eletrics but love it anyway! But for £4000 maybe a mint 300tdi? Or td5 but check it properly out first! As a few common faults to look out for.
Hope that helps?
Dave

If you browse around you'll see loads more threads on Disco TD5 problems than 200TDi or 300TDi. Whether this is because there's more of them, I don't know. Obviously being quite old, but not just that, the 200/300 suffer badly from rust. Some are pretty corrosion free and most have had welding already done on them, so it might not be such a big issue if you tread carefully. Also, parts prices for TD5 tend to be higher.
