Hello, and Happy Christmas,

i was out and about driving yesterday and i got a charge fault indication on the dash so i rushed home and thought alternator, i put the battery on charge as it was low come to start it when it was full and now it just has one very quiet click like its the starter motor, the battery is only 6 months old i have even tried to boost it. Could i be unlucky and both the alternator and starter pack up at same time? I have checked the large 60amp fuse for the starter and it is fine. Its a 2016 D4.

Any tips anyone?

If you didn't tell your car you fitted a new battery then it's most likley over charged and cooked it. The D4 has to be tolled a new battery has been fitted due to intelligent charging from the alternator.

Yea couldn't find those earth straps, but of a struggle as I'm on a gravel drive, I managed to get the bottom engine cover off but difficult to see under...

Put a jack on a chunk of plywood and jack it up, place axel stand on another slab or wood chunk, it'll help to stop yer head torch getting knocked off as you limbo under ...
