discovery 300tdi turbo whistle

hi,

This may be a stupid question but i don't know so no harm in asking in my eyes but i would like to hear more whistle from my discovery 300tdi, i have heard that a straight pipe will improve how loud the whistle is but is there any other ways to make the sound louder?

Park car over drain, remove sump plug, leave for 30seconds and replace. She'll whistle shortly afterwards.

Buy a Scooby not a Landy

Mines loud. Always has been. Not sure why though.

I run straight through down pipe, EGR blanked, silicone intercooler hoses, and only a centre box with side exit exhaust. Mine seems to be a lot louder than most 300tdi's I've heard.

You can have my old CHRA from my turbo, it whistles alright, kind of a scream at times.........mainly because of 160000 miles of use, a previous engine fire cooking its oil pipes and its imminent bearing bearing failure

A straight through exhaust will give you more whistle.
