Evening,
I currently have about a 0.25A drain on my battery which flattens it in around 5 days.
I have isolated the fault down to FS6 on satellite fuse box 2 which supplies all internal lights thru the Multi function unit and F12 on the main fuses block for the ignition key light. By removing both of these the drain drops to 30mA
The ground is supplied via the multi function unit for the interior lights. I first thought I had a problem with this unit but I've changed it and the fault still exists.
Could the fault be caused by the alarm connection which comes in on plug/pin B/24/4

PS I'm using Haynes manual wiring diagrams,
Is this a bad idea ?

yep ..... cos if someones done to it it's not going to be in the manual is it, start isolating things whilst checking the drain - you might find yer alarm is actually taking that much

Mines an r plate 300tdi and I have the same problem and can't find it, the spider must have been giving problems at one point because the previous owner run a wire from the ignition to the fuel cut off on the pump. Can the spider in a state of failure cause this you think??

Can I ask you, do you find a degree of slackness in the transmission when driving if you lift off the throttle then back on, don't know if this is a normal thing or a fooked g\box. or diff.

If you find the fault let me know, I'm going to bypass the spider and see if it makes a difference.

Morning,
I already have had the problem with the fuel cut off solenoid and the spider and am now driving it off one of the ignition switched supplies.
I am starting to think its tied in with the alarm system as this comes in to the multi functional unit and puts a ground onto the lighting circuit when you open the doors and then removes it when you put the key in the ignition.
If the ground is not totally being removed you will have a drain.
I am currently removing FS6 in satellite 2 and FS12 in the main fuse box when not using for a few days this cuts the drain from 0.300mA to 17mA
