Discovery , 300dti v td5

hi there i am buying a Discovery while i rebuild my v8 classic, not having much experiance with Discovery diesel's which one's the best 300tdi or the td5 , i was going down the td5 route be have heard of a few horror story's can any one please give me any advice, are there as bad as there say or is it a load of bull and better then the 300tdi cheers

The early ones had problems but if there still around then the probs must have been sorted out. So the answer to ya question is no they're not. However if ya like ta fix yer own vehicles then a tdi has less complicated electronics and is easier to work on.
