Hi All,

I need some advice please.

My 2007 Discovery 3 has an auto gearbox and yesterday it jumped out into neutral a couple of times. It's done 111000 miles and the oil has probably never been changed but the recommended Shell ATF M1375.4 seems to be hard to find. Can I use an alternative ATF M1375.4 oil? Can anyone recommend an alternative. I'm doing the change myself, first time for everything!

Welcome to LZ, best to post in the appropiate section ie the discovery section
As for your gearbox its fecked just kidding!

On the drivers side of the box is a lever which connects a cable to the gearselector, this linkage on the box seizes, car goes in gear but not properly and slightest bump knocks it into heutral
So you need to get underneath (axles stands as if it lowers you are dead!) and lube the linkage up, if you are lucky it will free up and if it does you will need to oil or grease it up so it lasts

As for oil ebay Mannol AG55, easy to change, dont bother with filter

Let us know how you get on, hang around as its a decent forum

AG 60 also works, buts its posher and more expensive

Ps rough location might elicit some help
