My local supplier sells various brands but recommended Lucas 21" blades last time - DKC100960-AM, and they seem to be doing a decent job.

Thanks, yes Lucas is what I'm leaning to. Lucas in general are pretty good and I'm yet to have issues with any of their products. I know people do the D1 wiper arm conversion but I have also read about people not getting on with that, having to bend arms etc and then going back to standard D2 arms/blades.
On my Defender I have the Bosch flat wiper blades but D2 wiper arms are getting on for twice the length so I'm not sure they'd be any good

You can get "normal" Bosch ones on Ebay.
Last time we bought Lucas ones they were fake, got the money back via complaint on Ebay. This was after being repeatedly ignored by the seller of Land Rover parts.

Yep, I use the Bosch blades fr & rr on my D2. My FL1 had the flat blades, also use them on my Mazda 2 & SHMBO's Mitsubishi Lancer never had any issues with dragging/skipping etc. The only thing I had on my D2 was the pattern arm (rear) on it which caused only half the screen to be wiped, now got a genuine arm & it clears the whole screen.

Thanks. I think i have had Bosch ones before but seem to remember they didn't last very long. Lucas stuff is generally pretty good, including their Td5 airflow sensors and fuel pumps. On the Defenders the Bosch aerotwin blades are miles better than anything else. I think they do do them for the D2 but i've read people didn't like them
Yes a few of the larger manufacturers struggle with fakes. People like Mahle, Continental/VDO, etc.
