So a little detail to begin land rover discovery 2 auto td5
Had full auto box rebuild not so long ago 1000 miles
And now have a very bad vibration but now here comes the mind boggler it's only once the car has done around 30 miles on the motorway it's a vibration right though the car and can be herd with windows down
So front rear driveshafts replaced rebalanced
All 4 wheel bearings replaced all normal checks done ball joints links diffs still no joy so back to the gearbox shop under warranty and as u can guess by my post not a gearbox issue apparently
So a little more detail of the vibration it feels like mid car and almost like a rotation scuffing in audiable sound let the car sit overnight car runs and drives fine until a long run and back to square 1
I'm completely stumped on wer to look next so any advice or clues are very welcome

That's about as far as it would take to warm up the gearbox ATF.
So I'm wondering if it might be a torque converter issue.
But maybe a Transfer box issue as it would probably take that long to warm up the oil in that too.
Obviously the cooler and therefore thicker fluids are masking the problem.
And do we believe the gearbox reconditioner did a proper job. Did it come with a guarantee?
First of all I'd check both the gear box and the TB have the correct amount of fluid in them, (without wishing to teach grandma to suck eggs to have to check the gearbox with the engine running).

Welcome to the forum by the way and you might find the time to go on the "Introduce yourself" part of it and ...do just that!

Best of luck with the problem.

Thanks for the speedy response this was the idea and route I went down the car is back with the gearbox company as we speak they have had the car now for 2 weeks and finally come back to me and they belive its not a gearbox issue if I'm honest since it went with them I have had nothing but trouble with them so considering a second opinion now this forum seems like a great place have browsed for info and tips and tricks now and again and seems like the most helpful place for a d2 owner mabie each land rover should be sold with a link to this forum 😂

If it persists and they refuse to do anything about it it is time for a second opinion.
In the old days trading standards would send out an engineer to look at things. Sadly no more.
Whoever you take it to would have to be competent in order for you to be able to follow this up with the fast track money back small claims track or whatever they are calling it this week.
When I bought my first Disco I had to do this as it came with a diff fault not picked up by the AA inspection. I got it fixed for nothing and the AA inspection fee was refunded. I took it to an independent 4x4 specialist for them to do a report.

The dealer tried to hide behind the fact that the AA inspection found nothing wrong with it! LOL 🤣 🤣 🤣
