Hi all I have an issue installing the CDL linkage on a discovery 2 using discovery 1 linkage while doing a manual swap! Installed the gearbox turret and difflock lever unit and sorted out the high low part of the linkage and then came to the diff lock part. It seems as if the pivot is mounted about an inch and a half too far forward. Upon further inspection there seems to be a spacer between the main housing of the gearbox and the extension part of it. Can anyone shed any light on this. Followed a thread from discovery2.co.uk to the letter and it doesn't seem to line up. Only reason I can think is because mine is a v8 and that one I believe is a td5. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

This confirms what your saying!
Thanks a lot! Spent a long time removing that gearbox and transfer box from a doner and I'm thinking am I going to burn it all now?

its not that there is a spacer, that is just the rear bearing plate for the gear box lt77 and 300tdi r380 plus td5 have them, its because the rear extension housing is longer on an r380 due to having reverse as well as 5th gear (an lt77 has reverse gear in the main case,it puts the gear change housing further back from the main case compared to an lt77 ,bell housing is shorter on an r380 to make an lt77 and r380 the same overall lenght, which is why hi/low lever works but diff lock doesnt

Ah makes total sense. Guy I bought the linkage off of wasn't very clear in what it actually came off of. Ordered the arm now will be here tomorrow.
