Hi I've recently baught a disco 1 and the front passenger door won't open from the outside unless the button on the inside is being held up whilst opening it. I'm not sure if this is the same problem as the infamous spring as the problem isn't the same. Had that problem when having to quickly flick handle several times for it to open. Any ideas anybody? Thanks

springs inside the locks are nackered search ebay for new ones very cheap to buy ....................... but a bastid to fit !!!

Funnily enough I just sorted my passenger door what dint open unless ya pulled the handle a coupla times, then it'd pop open.

This will only open if i lift nob on inside and pull handle at same time, pain in fekkin arse

Mine wouldn't open proply from outside, but would from inside.

Had the same problem myself. Couldn't open the door from outside and had to hold the pin up to open from inside. Check the linkages and pin as well, I changed the spring (which is a sod of a job on the front doors due to the window track, etc.!!) and the actuator on my front passenger side door and the problem remained. Adjusted the linkages and straightened the pin coming through the top of the door card and the problem's now sorted.
