Disco with Rusty Bumpers.....

Afteroon All....

Can anyone please advise how I can get rid of a couple of sections of rust on my discovery. The rust sections are about the size of a standard tax disc...

I had planned to remove the rust with a metal brush ... apply rust remover ... then grey primer and the black car spray paint...

Is this the best method or just remove the rust and apply black smooth hammerite...

Any advise is much appreciated...

Only Joking!!! I did mine using the same method 2 years ago, and they still look great!!! I also painted the back of the bumper because when i removed them there was hardly any paint coverage on them!!!!

Just remember, PPP, preperation, preperation and erm, oh yes PREPERATION!!!!!!!

Thanks for the response - but do you recommend the first method or the hammerite method.....

The first method gives a better finish, and wont look patchy!!!!
