disco speed sensor

hi everyone,
i am fitting a sat nav in my disco and i'm hoping someone can tell me where i can locate the speed sensor as i need to wire into it

any help would be much appreciated

behind the dash board ah guess..you'd have to find out what colour wire it is or if you're good with a multi meter you can do it by getting some one to turn a wheel(back) and check for a wire that pulses between 0v and 5v. that should be it.oh the pulses will get faster the faster the wheel is turned

It should also be coming off the gearbox.

UPDATE: According to the rave cd malarkyy, the speed sensor wire is located on the transfer box behind the transmission brake.

You aint said what yours is, but i would summise they are roughly the same.

of course it comes from down below but if you can get it from behind the dash its saves crawling about underneath and pokeing about in all the crap ..

are you talking about sat navs wires, or your mechanic again?

well she don't got no freelander so am thinking am ah talking about sat nav wires
