Hi all. I would like to change my music player in my disco td5. At the moment it has a Alpine head unit and under seat multi changer. My question is if i go for a new unit iwill probably only want radio and mp3 input. My problem i i'm not to sure if i get a new one, that the steering wheel binicle thing, will work. Tried asking in my local halfords store but they all said not sure, probably not. Can anyone else shed some info on this. Any advice welcomed and thanks in advance.

You can get an aux socket fitted to your existing head unit that doubles as a handsfree for your phone.

If you want further details PM me and i'll give you the company that did mine

If you want an handsfree kit that's linked into the radio get a Bury Take and talk system. Simple DIY fit and if you change ya fone you just unplug the cradle and change it for one to suit your fone.

Probably not, but it would depend upon which radio head unit you buy and whether or not you can obtain an adapter harness. Then there's the small problem of getting the levels right so that the amplifier is driven properly.

If your current radio is working, why change it just for the sake of an mp3 player?

I have looked at the problem and I've come up with some suggestions which might be worth considering before you opt for a change; you can find my suggestions on this thread.

I have the link cable that allows you to use a "proper" stereo with a disco

You get a Patch lead depending on which brand of stereo you buy. and then it's a simple case of just plugging it into the existing Harness.
