Anyone know if the "300" type mirrors will fit on "200" type doors, and work
once there, for preference?

Mother not amused by the passenger one which won't adjust low enough - since
it's wound all the way down, this is what's known as a "feature", and
obviously that's why the 300 type got bigger and better mirrors. 'tis a
fact that the original mirrors aren't all that impressive. And yes, they
have got convex glass in 'em.

Austin, you could try a spit on replacement glass and pad out the mounting at the
top with some extra or thicker double sided.

Don't say it cannot be done, rather what is needed to do it!

could do - but the later mirrors are bigger and give a better view anyway,
regardless of the adjustment issues. I may pull one off the "spare" disco
and have a look.
