Hi everyone,
Firstly thanks so much to everyone on this forum, so much knowledge that has helped me a lot so far in fixing all the lil disco problems I have had so faR. Luckily not so many so far after two years of owning it….. now I am having a problem with the doors locks, can't open any of the doors other that the drivers.
I know there are many posts with other discos having pretty much the same issue, and after trying a lot of the things I have seen around, I am giving this thread a go and see if anyone can help me with a couple of doubts I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Apologies if they have been discussed before.
The problem as follows, after a couple of weeks when the car was sitting in the driveway, I try to open it with the fob and it would not work, I could see that the alarm system was being deactivated when I pressed the button on the fob, but nothing happened on the door locks.
I can only open the driver's door manually with the key, the rest won't open from the inside or the outside, not with the fob not with the dash button, at the beginning the dash button seemed to make a noise, and wanted to open the doors, but after a while, I cannot hear any more noise, is dead.
I noticed moisture inside the fusebox compartment, so I checked the fuses etc, removed the board, and cleaned it, but it didn't sort out the problem. Might be worth mentioning that the signal lights are not fully working either….. I have seen some people relating this problem to moisture on the fusebox.
Apart from that I kind of dismiss problems with kea code, superlock etc as I can open start and drive the car, maybe Im wrong and should look somewhere around as well?
Now, I want to check and clean the bcu and or remove the door actuators, (probs starting from the tail one ) but I cannot open the bloody doors so there is no way to access them from the inside. Is there any way to force them open, break in maybe? I have tried old-style clothe hangers but nothing.
