Disco 2 heater matrix leak

I have a leaking heater matrix, have taken the center consol out and can see it is not the "o" rings and is the matrix its self, what I need to know is how you get it out,
I have had a quick look on RAV and it seams to surgest the whole dash heater unit, BCM etc has to come out, I really hope there is another way!!
Anybody done one or knows how????
