Clutch bleeding issues.
Hi all, just replaced clutch on our td5 at work. Can't get a full pedal we've back bled, bled the usual way foot on foot off. Truer the land rover way in to a clear container. Pedal seems to travel very slightly before getting any pressure.

Any tips or hints would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Try and get the front up as high as you can.

if you replaced the clutch and the slave cylinder is old just replace it cos otherwise you'll not get a pedal again... the cylinder worns out inside in time and when you release it from the pushrod the internal seal gets pushed forward and splits then it will not sit back properly again...it's quite common...this could happen to the master cylinder too but not so often

after I replaced the clutch in a td5 I had the same problem and spent money on slave and master cylinder which ended up being a waste of money after fitting them I still couldn't get a pedal
I ended up having to buy a pressure bleeder and spent days trying to bleed it off
it was without doubt the worst clutch I have ever changed (sorry to say it )
I had not even touched the hydraulic side of it so don't know why it was such a b######
I tried every thing from back bleeding to turning the slave cylinder up side down so the bleed nipple was on the bottom
good luck and just persevere and try a pressure bleeder
