Has anybody had any issues with terrafermas panard rod .
Been in for not.and failed because of the joint.
Been checked and all that can be seen is not the ball end but the bolt is slightly.slightly smaller.so making the rod moving .just wondering if I am the only one

I had to weld a a couple of thick washers over the mounts and use longer bolts with my tdi in the end, the holes had worn egg-shaped.

Not a panhard rod issue i realise... but kinda related.
After having my trackrod slowly pull itself to only three or so threads being in the rod while driving at 70 down the motorway to an airshow at Duxford, i'd just go and buy a new set. That's what i did when i bought my latest Discovery 2.
Apart from my MOT man pointing out how it clicked when he hung off it then pushed up it all looked perfectly fine.
As we pulled off the motorway i noticed the steering wheel was off centre by about 40 degrees and if i'm honest although pretty sure it was straight before, couldn't swear to it. Driving the mile or so to the actual airfield it felt like i might have a puncture although the steering wasn't pulling to one side like it would with a puncture. When we turned hard left into the field the steering wheel had moved around again when driving straight ahead. We stopped in a line and four of us bailed out and slid under the car. Nothing looked wrong until i noticed less than an inch of visible track rod on passenger side and nearly all of it on the other and sitting at an angle to the tube.
We managed to borrow the biggest adjustable spanner i'd seen for some time from two guys in a plumbers van about six cars up in the row next to us which allowed me to slacken of the effing tight clamp to push the track rod back in and then retighten.
I'd got a role of lawnmower pull chord in the back and we managed to secure it by going the other side of the clamp to the steering arm. Once we'd all driven in and parked, i left it half an hour and then went bouncing around the most bumps i could find and checked my rope work. It hadn't budged so after the show we drove home steadily pulling over at every layby we came to to check. it still hadn't moved. After i got home i ordered a new set of heavy duty steering rods and fitted them before moving the car off the drive.
I've since read an account of a father and son in Wales. When the track rod pulled out of the tube on their Series 3 and they plunged down a hillside rolling the car killing them both!
I'd advise anyone buying a second hand Land Rover to replace them as a matter of course if they aren't obviously recent new ones.

If the hole is worn can you get a new bracket and weld it on?
