Disco 1 Help !!

Well i have a disco 1 1993 and just had a guy have it up on a ramp and Oh NO !!

No i just don't know what to do for the best

1 rear pads ( Nothing )
2 front shocks ( nothing )
3 Auto box is leaking and has play ( Maybe recon box )
4 steering box as a leak ( new box where can i get a good one ?? )
5 needs some welding for MOT ( £100 )
6 back box has been put on wrong ( easy job to fix )
7 engine as over 202 K can get ine recon for £995 +150 labour +85 fitters

I can spend £1500 on a disco and i could find out i need to do work when i can put money in to this and know what needs doing.

But the guy was saying the engine will be just like a new one with 0 miles can that really be the case and recon box as i like my disco and like to see it do some more off road miles and not just the asda runs

How can anyone vote on this one mate, it's just a few jobs that need doing to get it back ship shape, and if the engine is running ok, why do you need to fix it.

We need a leg pull smiley.

Because it as high miles and i have 50k before the engine starts to go lol

Fook orf ya daft twot only set of 2nd hand wheels that'll bring any where near £400 is a set of Mach5's with almost new BFG MT's on em even a good set of freestyle alloys won't get ya much more than £200

A set of damaged mach5's without tyres made £455 on ebay about 3 months back.

Ive nearly got 250,000 miles on the clock and she still chugs along nicly. She gets taken to some of the more rougher green lane areas and then tows the family 1.5ton van on holiday. Stop winging and fix the Landy

4 steering box as a leak ( new box where can i get a good one ?? ) DO IT (PADDOCKS)

6 back box has been put on wrong ( easy job to fix ) DO IT
7 engine as over 202 K can get ine recon for £995 +150 labour +85 fitters LEAVE THE FOOOOKER B.

Job done. another 12 months mot

Just fix what you can, but the steering box is pretty much the most important, and run the thing.

Look at it this way, if it's done 200k and you think it's only good for another 50k then you've still got at least another 1/5th of it's life left.

The only steering boxed i have seen on paddocks are over £200

If the engine was knackered it would be a lot cheaper to do an engine swap.

2 front shocks ( nothing ) New Front shocks, £22 upwards

3 Autobox is leaking and has play ( Maybe recon box ) How does he know it has play in the autobox - where is it leaking from?

4 steering box as a leak ( new box where can i get a good one ?? ) Adjust the play out IF you're sure it's in the steering box or replace.

6 back box has been put on wrong ( easy job to fix ) ?? If you mean the exhaust a whole new system is only £36+vat

7 engine has over 202 K can get ine recon for £995 +150 labour +85 fitters. Does it run right? If yes, service it and then leave it be.

I get the strong feeling that someone is trying to take you for a ride.

Get it through it's mot by having the welding done - somewhere else!!- and then bit by bit go through the vehicle and improve/replace/renovate.
