Disco 1 200tdi (93)

Hi all new to Discovery only had it a week thought it was good on fuel but the fuel tank sender reports half a tank? put in £20.00 shows 3/4 tank full and goes down to half tank looked at the sender unit it has had a white wire cut any ideas what it should do dont have Manual yet

Cut? does it look like it was cut on purpose or could it have snagged or sliced on something, reason I ask is there could be a reason this was done... such as a deeper darker electrical problem...

It could also be that someone was trying to fool someone into thinking there was more/less fuel in the tank... although I am not sure why, but people do some strange things.

I would connect the cut wires and see what happens...

£20 would roughly take it from 1/2 to 3/4 a fill up is about £65
