Gents, the chassis on my TD5 Discovery is really tidy and I want to keep it that way so I'm looking to initiate some kind of protection before it all goes bad.

Firstly, Dinitrol vs Waxoyl vs something else, what do you guys recommend ?

Secondly, who do you recommend to apply it ? I'm more than happy to pay someone to apply it, I'm far to old/lazy to stand beneath a Disco with wax dripping on my head.

As I live in Cornwall I realise I'm almost certainly going to travel a few hundred miles into civilisation for this service, but I'm happy to pay/travel as long as the job's done right.

I've looked plenty and found some very interesting threads, I'm not really closer to what or whom, but I have a good idea of a few people I won't be using...

Unfortunately this subject is a can of worms
I've been there myself & despite my own enquires, searching on this forum & inviting opinions (on a very well trodden path) I'm still left bemused. A certain well known specialist seems to have alienated a number of members & two others I have contacted (one using Dinitrol & the other Waxoyl) in addition to being bloody expensive, compared to the aforementioned specialist, require my RRC for between two & five days which leaves me into an overnight B&B situation as well. Like yourself I'm also too old/creaky to do the job myself so I'm still putting it off, fortunately it was last done four years ago.......the rest is history. NB I see the 'Waxoyl Service from £390' ad has re-appeared on this forum, I got the impression it had been taken down a while ago, for one reason or another.

dinitrol definately.

i just got my local landie garage to do a deal. i bought the dinitrol stuff (about £100) of the various types and then they steamed my chassis off on their external lift, let it dry overnight, and then applied the stuff id given them the next day. £80 done, result.
