Hi All,

I noticed that the Difflock warning light on the dashboard of my 110 wasn't working, so after a quick investigation found that it didn't have a wire from the switch to the dashboard...

Simple enough, I thought, and added a wire to the switch, but can't find where to connect it to.

Any clues would be appreciated

I can’t remember if the difflock switch has one or two terminals on it, I think it has 2. One should go to an Earth, usually a bolt on the transfer box, the other goes up to the binnacle. I think the wire colour for the difflock light is black with a blue trace, but your would need to check that.

Yeah, it's earthed on the casing.
The other terminal didn't have anything at all. So I've run up a new cable to somewhere near the back of the dashboard, so I was wondering whether there was a multi block connector in the loom somewhere that I could splice it into?

Any pictures could also help. :)

Assuming you have standard 200tdi dash. If you remove the binnacle, you should see two multi block connectors, that connect directly to the dash warning light panel. One of them is the difflock feed. I’m not entirely convinced that it’s black/blue like I said before, but that’s the colours I found online.

Have you had a look along the chassis rail to see if the original wire has been removed and not put back on? It would save messing with single wires.

The one with black plug. It comes away separate from main Loom then goes up in to dash.
Wire it straight to switch.

So, went looking for the connectors, and I found a completely unconnected multi connector, next to another multi connector, and a couple of smaller ones.

Is this something which I should be worried about? What usually gets plugged into that.

It's located just towards the drivers side on the bulkhead under the bonnet.

Any clues?

Check your wiring colours against this one of mine. Mine is a 92 200tdi.

Edit: just seen yours is a different type of connector. Off to see if I have any different photos.

No I don’t have any photos of a connector that looks like that from the rebuild. I’m not sure what it is for. Check the wiring colours against a wiring diagram.
