Diff Guard concerns

I have just fitted a pair of diff guards, of the skid plate/wrap around type, and am a little concerned with the rear one:
1. Brake line actually touches the top plate - should I sheath the brake line with something similar to the breather pipe/pvc pipe?

2. When looking back under the vehicle from the front, I can see the rear guard is wider than the diff so in effect this will scoop up any mud and either pack it solid around the diff or worse still catch and rip itself off on a rock/branch/root? - would it be advisable to have a go at it with a grinder?

Can you just tweak the brake pipe to give more clearance?
Can't see the catching issue being a real problem in the 2nd pic tbh.

Looks fine, second one don't worry that is really unlikely to happen. Move the line a little or add some foam or something

Thanks for the reassurance... rather glad I don't need to hack away at my shiny new bits.

I will see if I can coax the brake line away, as it is quite a sharp edge... I think it may have already seen a bit of action, as it doesn't sit in its clips like it should!

Do these work? When I took mine off road last time i had problems with the sump guards, both diffs and the towbar being to low and not being able to straddle the high point between the tyre ruts.
I guess the only way around this is taller tyres, wouldnt a diff guard make this worse?

They're only about 6/8mm thick, and they are almost touching the diff so I should think that 99% of people won't notice the 10mm reduction in ground clearance. You can lose that over the life of a set of mud terrains anyway.

trapped mud is a significant problem - rotting the diff pan in next to no time

The usual clamp-on ones are much worse on the mud caking department.
So much that I'll be swapping mine for a pair of wrap rounds like those of the OP
