After cleaning gunge out of the whole fuel system including having the injector pump reconned my 2.0 diesel engine has spluttered back into life. It's reluctant to rev though, is making lots of white smoke and is very lumpy (nothing new there you might say) - so whilst I set it up as per the manual I think the timing's out. I'm told by the man who reconned the pump, that with so much wear to be expected after 60 years it won't be spot on as per the book.
So my question is, does anyone know which way should I turn the pump on its 3 slots - clockwise or anticlockwise to hopefully make it better?
- or any other suggestions?
Thanks
