diesel probloem

I an having problems with my mates disco, traced the fault back to the 'water trap' next to the tank and discovered that it was full of sand, so i cleaned it out and fired her up she ran perfect for about 30 minutes and then started to act up again so am in the process of taking the tank off now to investigate further.

Then i was talking to some one this morning and he said that the water trap is supposed to be full of sand?

So can anyone shed any light on the subject of a sand filled fuel filter.

no its not supposed to be full of sand!!!

Thort so next hell be telling me to put beetroot in my oil filter.
