P38 diesel no power until 1500rpm
Hi, really need some help, I have a 2000 p38 diesel and it starts fine but when I put foot down it takes ages to reach 1500rpm but once there I get all power back but the minute I stop at roundabout or lights etc I lose all power again till it reaches 1500rpm, I have recently replaced pipes from the injectors, any ideas please
 
Is it manual or auto? If it's manual, being in the correct gear helps considerably. The auto should decide what gear it needs for itself. Check the pressure pipe from under manifold to MAP sensor is clear and has no splits in it. Also that MAP sensor inlet is clear and manifold out let is clear. Check that EGR valve is not stuck open.
 
Thanks a lot for advice, it struggles to get up to 1500rpm, my brother said I might need to bleed it, does anyone know if this is true
 
If it is struggling to get from 750 idle to 1500 rpm. You may like to put some diagnostics on throttle potentiometer. Maybe idle switch is not dropping out when the throttle is demanded.
 
also you can check for air in the system as you will be able to see bubbles in the clear pipe that runs from the fuel filter to the FIP but the system "should" bleed out on it's own once running
 
Is the tank low fuel pump
Working properly ? Could just be a sticky accumulators in the fip pump the , pump has
Had a locating key and the sprocket has timing marks on it to fine tune it you use a dial Gauge not a DIY job really

No sarcastic answers just correct ones. Do you mean like "Get your eyes tested?" VE pumps don't have accumulators in them. Only an high pressure chamber and a relief valve.
