In the shed. Making engines for ME
I have just pumped out my neighbours camper vans tank, after he inadvertently put in petrol instead of diesel.
I now have aprox 50lts of mixed, the mix is about 50% of each petrol/diesel.
How can I safely/responsibility dispose of this hybrid fule?

I believe you can separate them if you want to..... When I cleaned out my tank (Petrol) and I had waste oil which I stored in the same container, I took mine to the tip and they said to just dump it in the waste oil tank which scared the **** out of me but I did it.

I have also just left it in a bucket and let it evaporate which I think is far safer, also fascinating how it kills the grass under the bucket as it evaporates.

People who run veg or bio use it to aid starting in winter, called mis fuel in those circles. I would have it but I don't know where you are, otherwise list it as miss fuel on market place or some such site and a vegger might be near? I've used up to 10% petrol in my 200tdi in the past but 5% is safe in almost anything diesel and as its not all petrol..5% of what you've got could go in your own diesel.

Id happily take it here.

But my "here" and your "there" are probably miles apart.

Id just chuck the in the boiler tank. It would dilute away to nothing.

Edit : the boiler here is configured to run on 35sec fine. A riello 28sec may get upset I guess.

Mix it 1:4 with fresh diesel and run it in a tdi or any other old diesel!

My local tip reckon 5 littes max waste oil!
Mine is the same but last time they challenged my with a 25l drum of old oil, I continued emptying it while quoting and adding up the engine and gearbox quantities in the land rover (engine alone is more than 5l) and by the time i had finished arguing the drum was empty so just left!

I had already stuck 10 ltrs in there when he come and told me that the max was 5 litres, I then said well I have 4 cars and a boat so that is a total of 6 engines, he had a to think to breath then replied it is still 5 litres mate!

Years ago I remember an old guy telling when he bought new oil he immdeiately decanted it into a 5 litre pouring jug, then put the old drained oil into the new shiny oil container and left it outside his garage, every time it would disappear overnight!

My mate runs his pick up with a mix of old engine oil & doosil, veg oil, paraffin or anything else he finds thats free. 🤣
