Diesel leak - winter only

Last year I had leaking diesel but it disappeared by spring/summer. Now I have the smell in the cabin again and the characteristic diesel on the underside of the undertray etc.

I know the answer is to get the tray off and get underneath, not an option just yet - are there any types of leak that usually only occur in cold weather?

i would take the tray off, get underneath and have a look, but check out the fbh first!

sounds just like mine .mine is leaking from the high pressure fuel pump only in the winter though looks like its one of the two rubber pipes but me thinks the seals have gone

Hp pumps leak when cold and tend to seal themselves to some extent due to expansion when engine warms up.

look at your leak off hoses first and have a good look around the leak of copper washers
