Had fault light and no power a week or so back. fault wad needle lift sensor, cleared code then worked fine until today.

Driving then no power and fault light, can't reset as it comes straight back.

Rpm reading on lift sensor 0

So unplugged and measured resistance across pins and it's open circuit.

This I take it means it's busted and not connections or wiring
 
No. 4 has the needle lift sensor integrated to the injector, and there are two different types, depending on whether the engine is an early non-EGR or later EGR model.

The other injectors are around £100 each from memory, and are interchangeable between engines.
 
Ive just bought one new this week through the back door of a major parts retailer for £70
Can ask again if you want?
Might take a week or 2 as they dont have them onshelf they come direct from germany

Before i found this guy i nearly bought a mot fail omega for £250
To be honist im still thinking about it for a spaire engine then get £100 back in scrap for the rest of the car

I think its always best to buy new, things like doors windows bumpers ect but as for injectors your never know the condition until its too late .
 
Thanks Guys

I remeasured the resistance when cold and it was showing a reading, resetting the code did not work still as obviously a problem as RPM's in Nano different between Needle lift sensor and Crank, then when it warmed up the reading became O.

Remeasuring resistance it was open circuit again.

Thanks for the offer of the possibility of the cheap back door sensor, but I need it on the road running properly ASAP so Island 4x4 got the order STC2290 as mine is pre EGR
