Diesel heaters + direct fueling

Good afternoon!

Just a quick question about Diesel heaters and fueling, If I was to plumb directly into the fuel tank, would I need to put in a 12v inline pickup? I will be having the diesel heater under my cubby box (land rover 90).

Most people t into the fuel line which is more easily reversible than plumbing into the tank.

The heaters come with their own pump

The heaters come as a complete kits, ie standpipe and the fuel pump is all included.
