Diagnose of my TD4 MAF

Hi guys.. I was browsing around some forums and read about the lack of power under the 2300 rpm mark which could be due to a knackered maf...I read some forums on what to do,unplugged the sensor and observed a GREAT :eek: boost up especially on low revs but with some excessive smoke if pushed hard and clinking noise from the valves probably...I cleaned the maf and re-plugged it back and it felt that I cleaned it in vain as it practically made no difference at all from since it was dirty..I'm still not giving up on the MAF as I had my landie checked and no sensor was reporting any anomaly whatsoever..Since I'm not giving up yet on this MAF I would like to know whether there is anybody who knows on how to check the MAF with a voltmeter or something....is there a cheap way to fix it?? I think this will be the cherry on my trouble cake to sell my landie. :(
 
check out rover rons gismo. . . .no yer cant check it as its an electronic thermo fing bob fing, un to complicated fer most earthlings to even grab the basics of this maff fing ,chat wiv ron. . . . .:)
 
ok here is somthing else to consider, dirty injectors
get some injector cleaner in yer tank,,, i used stp diesel , you should notice the difference after a couple of tank refils , if it dont cure your problem it wont have cost you much , let us know how you get on

and if you are looking for some performance increase,as ming mentioned the roveron tuning box is highly recomended
 
I've done some research online and found on how to diagnose the maf. My readings when tested pin 5 with pin 3 were...Ignition on = 1.05v (should be 1.02v) and when engine started maximum reached 3.8v (should be 3.8v - 4.4v). could the difference result because my maf is a bosch and the readings i compared with were taken from a pierburg document?

ahem. . . . .earthling you dint listen to ming the mighty . . . .yer cannot i say cannot measure in yer stupid earth vollts un ma fing the said maff sensor. . . . .why dunt you listen to the knoweth. . . . . . .yer phookin ****:( :( :(

I wouldn't worry too much about those readings, they are well within tolerance of the range. For the small amounts your reading here, anything could affect the readings by that small amount. Quality and calibration of multimeter (no offence intended), quality of the leads, quality of connection, so on and so on.

Yer airflow meter is stuffed,stop trying to be clever and just buy a new one.
