Hi

Right I have not long done the conversion. Your best bet is to keep an eye out on eBay etc for a discovery 200 tdi with bad rot or going through cheap. Max £400-500. You can take the power steering set up off it when you convert.

There's several threads on here of how to do the conversion.

You only use the engine, steering ( in your case) radiator and if you want you can take the transfer box too which makes motorway driving much quieter. Take the airbox and fixings out the disco too.

As for the remains of the disco. Strip it bare. Subject to condition;
Wheels ( keep for self if steels is alloys sell)££££ depending on what they are
Sunroofs ( vw transporter owners unse them) £80 pair poss
Seats. £50+
Electric window motors £10-20
Exhaust
Switchable
Bumpers
Cubby box ( I made £30)
Head lining
Heated rear screen
Wing mirrors £30pair
Head lights
Any mods you don't need
Axles £50 each poss
Props if good and not knocking
If the plastic fuel tank get a canister under and cut it with Stanley knife and drain out 20 litres in mine :0
Can all be sold

And your old motor just chuck it in the carcass with any scrap metal you have remaining and weigh it in. (Be sure to take driving license )

Only other bits you need are an exhaust downpipe, intercooler pipes.

Makes hell of a difference.
