Owned my 1999 Land Rover Defender 90 about 10 weeks or so now. I assumed the colour was Rioja Red paint code 601.
However, I’m not sure if its actually Alveston Red now?
It’s a 1999 300 TDI CSW, one of the last registered. It had a build date of 16th April 1998 if that narrows down what the colour/shade of red if could be?
Here’s a picture of mine all unedited. Typing in the respective colours online and google image searching they both look extremely similar if not the same colour and perhaps it was just a name change or rebrand?
the drivers side front wheel arch has actually been resprayed around two weeks back using Rioja Red paint as that’s what I thought it was, only just spotted Alveston Red and that too looks very very similar.
The spray guy had no issue matching it and in my opinion looks spot on, it had a nasty scratch and gouge on the wheel arch which now is invisible.
would any experts know what the difference is between Rioja and Alveston Red?
