My defender td5 clock doesnt show the mileage when ignition is off or on first click and when putting engine off it goes off and disssapears in some sort of LL shapes is this normal

Not normal to do that, it should show mileage when the engine is off

It does show mileage when engine is off but only in the second click of the key

Just went for a quick spin and realised the mileage goes up and then back down to what it was originally

Update whilst fixing the radio i realized that there was no power to the blue and brown wire on radio so i connected that wire to a live wire and odometer radio and hazards all started to work as they should

did you not check the fuses and fused links before connecting to a unnamed live wire. a fire in the making and a problem for the next owner
