Hey chaps,

Hopefully someone can help me out. Recently took the heater control panel off and in doing so the hot/cold cable came off, which I reinstalled but went for a drive and no heat!

Temp gauge was where it should be, was doing 60 on the motorway. The air was luke warm. Luckily we are heading out of winter so it isnt all bad but still a pain.

Theres no gook or junk in the intake, water wouldnt have gotten in either. I checked the cables in the engine bay all still moving as the should, the arm on top of the box is also moving. Fan speed hasnt changed.

Any ideas on whats happend?

Its the bit that the cable connects to. Take the cable off and move it, you should feel a bit of resistance. Run the engine and make sure the heater hose is hot, then try moving the lever to either end of its range of movement and see if there's any difference in the temperature of the heater output.

AFAIK the Td5 has no valve on the coolant, it's permannent flow there, the cables are only for flap control(my apologies if i'm wrong)...IMO bleed well the system before you do anything else cos air lock in the matrix is very common.

if you only fiddled with the dash control, then haven't you just put it back on without adjustment?

move heater control until max heat. go in engine bay unclip the wire cable and manually move the lever fully over. clip it back on in that position.

Just checking around the engine bay. The drivers side intercooler hose was VERY loose, pulled it off with almost no effort. Surrounded by a medium amount of liquid or oil
